About us
In the picture above you can see what meets you when you arrive here. Our small "museum" that shows some of all the high-quality vintage sewing machines that have been made.
We are passionate about preserving the good old sewing machines – those built to last, but too often given up on too early. At the same time, we are true nerds when it comes to our craft. When spare parts are no longer available, we do not ask if it is possible – we figure out how. Often, that means we make the parts ourselves.
This has gradually developed into a webshop with over 50 self-produced spare parts, now used by repair technicians and enthusiasts in more than 20 countries. So when others say "it cannot be repaired", we usually believe it can – with the right knowledge, attitude, and a bit of patience.

"Do not argue with idiots!"
Originally a nurse with further education in leadership and practical pedagogical training. When you call, you reach the "front desk", and it is Gjertrud you will speak with. She has full control over the registered machines and the "waiting list"; she is the one who calls in and receives the machines when they are delivered. Here, the "patients" are well received and taken care of before operation and spa treatment that makes them as good as new again.
Gjertrud has created all the content about garment sewing and clothing adjustment on syakademiet.no. In addition, she actively works to save good old sewing machines from being thrown away.
SyRep is part of Syakademiet AS. Syakademiet was established in 2012 to offer sewing courses, creative events, and sewing machine service. From the autumn of 2017, Syakademiet transitioned to offering online sewing courses. In addition to servicing and repairing sewing machines, SyRep develops and produces spare parts that are no longer in production and sells them through the webshop 3dsewingparts.com. Parts have been sold to customers in 23 countries in addition to Norway.
